Job Description
Senior Financial Accountant | Second-Time Mover Suited n

Description
n

- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting financial reports, ensuring deadlines are consistently achieved
n
- Take ownership of month-end reporting activities, providing detailed financial analysis and insights to support effective business decision-making
n
- Coordinate and consolidate budgeting activities across the organisation, including operating expenditure, headcount planning, capital expenditure forecasts and board reporting packs
n
- Manage key compliance obligations including BAS, FBT, payroll tax, WorkCover, ABS reporting and other statutory requirements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory deadlines
n
- Support the preparation of statutory financial statements, income tax requirements and year-end reporting obligations in partnership with external advisors and internal stakeholders
n
- Play a key role in the external audit process, preparing audit schedules, responding to auditor queries and ensuring all necessary documentation is provided in a timely manner
n
- Oversee and review payroll-related reporting, acting as a key finance contact for payroll matters while ensuring the accuracy of personnel and headcount reporting
n
- Partner with operational and commercial stakeholders across the business to provide ad hoc analysis, financial insights and support for business improvement initiatives and projects
n
- Identify and implement process improvements across financial accounting procedures, systems and controls to enhance efficiency, compliance and overall business performance
n

Profile
n
n
- CA or CPA qualified, with a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
n
- Demonstrated experience within a Senior Financial Accountant, Financial Accountant or equivalent position, ideally with exposure to complex month-end and year-end reporting requirements
n
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including financial reporting standards, statutory compliance, tax obligations and audit management
n
- Strong systems knowledge and capability, with capacity to adapt and learn as required
n
- Likely a high-performing first or second mover from chartered accounting looking to further develop within a commercially focused industry environment, or an experienced industry accountant seeking broader responsibilities
n
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to manipulate large data sets, produce meaningful financial analysis and improve reporting processes
n
- Exposure to inventory management and optimisation would be ideal
n
- Proven experience managing budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities, with the commercial acumen to translate financial results into business insights
n
- A proactive and detail-oriented professional who can work autonomously, build strong stakeholder relationships and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment while maintaining a continuous improvement mindset
n
