The Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne is seeking an experienced and highly organised Legal Administrator to provide critical administrative support to our Legal Department. This role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside a collaborative team of legal professionals while contributing to the work and mission of the Archdiocese.

Reporting to the General Counsel, you will provide administrative support across a diverse range of legal matters, including governance, property, trusts, litigation and contracts. This is a role for an individual who demonstrates exceptional professionalism, discretion and attention to detail, particularly when handling sensitive and confidential information.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Administration
n
n
- Manage diaries and coordinate meetings for the General Counsel and Legal Team.
n
- Monitor and triage shared email correspondence.
n
- Prepare correspondence, reports and legal documentation.
n
- Manage high-volume invoicing and billing administration.
n
- Maintain electronic records and legal files.
n
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external partners to improve and maintain administrative and records management systems.
n
- Request and collate documentation from internal and external sources.
n
- Assist with the preparation of draft responses using approved templates and processes
n
- Upload information and maintain accurate records within relevant systems.
n
- Generate reports and track requests and outcomes.
n

About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Experience in an administrative, legal administration, claims management or similar support role.
n
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
n
- Proven experience handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
n
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
n
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
n
- Confidence learning and working with new systems and databases.
n
- A collaborative, proactive and professional approach.

- National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).

- Valid Working with Children Check.
