Beacon Legal is partnering with a leading financial services group to appoint a Senior Legal Counsel to its established in-house legal team.

This is an excellent chance for a corporate/M&A; lawyer looking to move in-house without stepping away from high-quality transactional work.
n
The business is highly acquisitive, completing a significant volume of transactions each year. Around 80% of the role will focus on corporate transactions, giving you genuine ownership of deals from start to finish.
The role n
You will work closely with senior executives, boards and business stakeholders across:
n
n
- Mergers, acquisitions, divestments and corporate restructures
n
- Drafting and negotiating SPAs, shareholders agreements, term sheets and other transaction documents
n
- Managing transactions through due diligence, negotiation, signing and completion
n
- Capital raisings and strategic corporate projects
n
- Corporate governance and regulatory matters
n
- Commercial contracts,
including technology, supplier and outsourcing agreements
n
n
This is a hands-on role where you will be trusted to independently lead transactions and provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice.
About you n
You will ideally have:
n
n
- 6+ years' PQE
n
- Strong corporate/M&A; experience gained within a leading law firm
n
- Experience independently managing corporate transactionsExposure to the financial services sector
n
- Strong drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
n
- A commercial, practical and detail-oriented approach
n
n
Previous in-house experience is welcomed but not essential. This could be an excellent first move in-house for a corporate Senior Associate who enjoys deal work and wants greater ownership of transactions within a fast-paced, acquisitive business.

The role is preferably based in Brisbane , although strong candidates in Sydney or Melbourne will also be considered.
