This role works across the school calendar — four terms of 10 weeks, 40 weeks in total — and follows the school holidays. Accrued leave is taken during term breaks.

About the Role n
We’re looking for a warm, community-minded Family Services Support Worker to join our team on a part time basis. Working two days a week — Tuesdays at Rose Bay Cottage and Thursdays at Holdsworth — you’ll play a vital role in delivering inclusive, community-based programs that support family wellbeing, early childhood development and social inclusion.

You’ll help plan and facilitate playgroup sessions and related family services activities, creating a safe, welcoming and engaging environment for the families and children who take part.
What You’ll Do n
n
- Support and facilitate weekly playgroup sessions alongside the Family Services team
n
- Promote inclusive, person-centred opportunities for families and children to build social and recreational skills
n
- Actively engage with parents and children to foster participation and connection
n
- Help ensure the physical and emotional safety and wellbeing of all participants
n
- Assist with planning play-based learning activities suited to participants’ needs and interests
n
- Maintain accurate attendance records and handle customer payments where required
n
- Provide up-to-date information, advice and referrals about Holdsworth’s services and programs
n
- Supervise and mentor volunteers and student placements involved in playgroup delivery
n
- Represent Holdsworth positively at events and in the community
n
- Use Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Word and Excel) for communication, documentation and reporting
n
What We’re Looking For nn
- 2–3 years’ experience in a similar community services or early childhood support role, ideally in a not-for-profit or council-funded setting
n
- A tertiary qualification in Community Services, Early Childhood, Social Work or a related discipline (desirable)
n
- Current Working with Children Check
n
- Current National Police Check
n
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
n
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365
n
- A genuine commitment to inclusive, person-centred community work
n
