We partner with a collection of Australia's most innovative designers and prestigious clients to deliver award winning commercial workplace, hospitality, and education spaces across a variety of industries with offices in Sydney, Melbourne & Canberra and Hobart.
About the role n
Reporting to the Site Operations Manager, the Construction Project Manager will plan, organise, direct, control and coordinate the construction of engineering and building projects, and all resources involved, from pre-construction through to practical completion. This is a full time, ongoing position based at George Street in Sydney CBD.
Key responsibilities n
n
- Coordinate and prioritise resources across one or more construction projects to meet agreed timeframes
n
- Apply the hierarchy of controls and other risk management tools across project stages
n
- Arrange the procurement and timely delivery of materials, plant and equipment
n
- Consult with and build strong relationships with architects, engineers, subcontractors, clients, and trades workers throughout the course of each project
n
- Monitor project progress against timelines, costs, quality standards and budgets, and report on these to management
n
- Negotiate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and other stakeholders
n
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with the Building Code of Australia, relevant Australian Standards, and work health and safety legislation
n
- Manage, lead and supervise subcontractors and on-site teams
n
- Provide regular project updates, progress reports, and performance metrices to senior management and other stakeholders
n
About you nn
- A bachelor degree or higher qualification in construction management, civil engineering, building or a related field, or at least five years of relevant experience managing construction projects
n
- An understanding of the principles of most trades and services
n
- High level understanding and proven dedication to OHS&E; principles
n
- Work experience within the fit out and refurbishment building industry
n
- Demonstrated experience managing the full lifecycle of building or engineering construction projects
n
- Strong organisational, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills
n
- Sound knowledge of the Building Code of Australia, relevant Australian Standards, and work health and safety obligations
n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
