English Teaching Opportunities Across Sydney n
HARKE is partnering with a number of leading independent schools across Sydney seeking experienced English teachers for full-time positions commencing in January 2027.
n
These opportunities suit teachers looking to join supportive, well-resourced schools that value strong academic outcomes, positive student relationships and high-quality teaching.

Schools are seeking teachers across a range of English areas, including:
n
n
- English Years 7–10
n
- English Standard
n
- English Advanced
n
- English Extension
n
- English Studies
n
- Junior English and Humanities combinations
n
n
Specific teaching loads will depend on each teacher’s experience, subject strengths and preferred year levels.
Who HARKE Wants to Hear From n
HARKE is particularly interested in English teachers who can demonstrate:

- Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting
n
- Strong knowledge of the NSW English curriculum
n
- The ability to engage students across a range of academic abilities
n
- Confidence teaching senior English subjects where applicable

- Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
n
- A commitment to developing students’ literacy, critical thinking and communication skills

Teachers with experience delivering Stage 6 English , including Advanced or Extension courses, will be highly regarded. However, opportunities are also available for strong junior and middle-years English teachers.

Requirements nn
- Registration: Current NESA accreditation or eligibility to obtain accreditation

- Qualifications: Recognised secondary teaching qualification with English as a teaching area

- Safeguarding: Two current professional referees and completion of HARKE’s onboarding requirements
