As part of our continued growth, we are seeking experienced Master Mariners and Class I Marine Engineers to join our team in Newcastle, NSW, Australia.

About the Role n
In this diverse and hands-on position, you will work alongside experienced marine professionals conducting a wide range of marine surveys and inspections for our clients across Australia.
n
The role offers significant variety, professional autonomy and the prospect to contribute to an expanding national business. Interstate and intrastate travel will be required based on operational needs.
Key Responsibilities n
Marine surveying activities may include:
n
n
- Draft surveys
n
- Cargo hold inspections
n
- Vessel repair attendance and monitoring
n
- Cargo trimming inspections
n
- Oil and chemical tanker quantity surveys and sampling
n
- On-hire and off-hire bunker surveys
n
- Vessel condition surveys
n
- Flag State Inspections
n
- Quality and compliance inspections
n
- Container damage surveys
n
- Cargo sampling and analysis support
n
About You n
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Essential n
n
- Master Mariner (Class I) or Marine Engineer (Class I) Certificate of Competency
n
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience sailing in the rank of Master or Chief Engineer
n
- Experience onboard bulk carriers and/or container vessels
n
- Strong knowledge of port operations, terminal activities and marine regulations
n
- Current driver's licence
n
- Ability to obtain or hold a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
n
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
n
Desirable nn
- Previous marine surveying experience
n
- Experience conducting class surveys
n
- Knowledge of Australian maritime regulatory requirements
n
- Strong report writing and stakeholder management skills
n
