We represent an Australian owned and operated property development and construction company which specialises in commercial, retail and residential developments.

n

They are now seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to support their friendly and collegial in-house legal team.

n

Legal Team

n

The Legal team are responsible for providing legal and strategic support in respect of projects in addition to supporting the wider business.

n

Given the company is an integrated property development and construction company, the in-house lawyers will provide legal advice on the complete lifecycle of the projects, including the scouting, acquiring, development, selling and leasing.

n

Position Description

n

Your position will see you working closely with the General Counsel and being supported by the Legal Counsel, yet also gaining considerable exposure to the wider business.

n

Duties and responsibilities of the position will include:

n

- Provide legal advice and support on a range of property-related matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, finance, construction and development projects.
n
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of property and commercial contracts and agreements.
n
- Conduct due diligence on property transactions to identify legal risks and provide recommendations.
n
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting the property and construction industries.
n
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks.
n
- Assist in the management and resolution of legal disputes and litigation related to property,



construction and commercial issues.

Requirements

n

To be successful in this role you will likely have between 5 to 8 years' post admission experience in property law, and ideally some exposure to construction law, from either private practice or in house.
