AO6 Senior Communications Advisor - Infrastructure & Transport
Location: Nerang, QLD
Contract: 6 months, with possible extension options available for the right candidate, pending budget decisions as always
Pay: $88.68 to $94.71 p/h including super
Work type: Full-time / Part-time
Work arrangement: Site and office based as required, with specific arrangements agreed with your supervisor on a case-by-case basis
Clearance: No security clearance required; employment screening applies
About the Role
n Join our State Government client in a senior communications and engagement role supporting a major infrastructure program. You will be at the centre of community engagement, stakeholder relationships, media and emerging issues. You will also lead a small communications and engagement team and provide strategic advice to senior project and regional leaders.
What You'll Be Doing

- Deliver community engagement, community relations and correspondence activities
n
- Manage relationships with community, industry, business and government stakeholders
n
- Identify emerging communication issues, trends and risks
n
- Develop proactive issues management and external engagement responses
n
- Provide high-level media, engagement and strategic communication advice
n
- Lead and coach a small communications and stakeholder team
n
- Produce clear,



consistent and high-quality public information and collateral
n
- Build strong relationships with project teams and external stakeholders
n
- Stay across major works and project activity to anticipate communication risks
n

What You Bring (Essential Criteria) n
n

n
- You've delivered community engagement and stakeholder relations in a complex public-facing environment
n
- You've managed media, public affairs or issues management activities
n
- You can advise senior leaders on sensitive communication and stakeholder issues
n
- You've led or coached communications, engagement or stakeholder staff
n
- You can manage difficult stakeholders and critical conversations professionally
n
- You hold a current Class C driver's licence and have your own vehicle for required site travel
n
- You're an Australian citizen
n

Nice to Have (Desirable Criteria) n

- Major infrastructure, transport or construction project experience
n
- IAP2 or equivalent community engagement training
n
- Knowledge of the infrastructure planning lifecycle
n
- Social media capability
n
- Communications, public relations or marketing qualifications, or equivalent experience
