Operations Manager – Healthcare n

Are you an experienced healthcare leader with a passion for improving healthcare outcomes? Our client is seeking a dynamic Operations Manager to oversee and coordinate the operational functions of our clients private hospital based in Elderslie. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders to ensure seamless processes, regulatory compliance, and the highest standards of patient care.
Your Key Responsibilities n
n
- Establish and nurture effective working relationships with internal staff including the Director of Nursing, Surgeons and Visiting Medical Officers, Administration staff, and Clinical staff to facilitate smooth communication and teamwork.
n
- Lead, mentor, and support operational staff, fostering a culture of excellence, engagement, and continuous improvement.
n
- Drive commercial outcomes by identifying opportunities to maximise hospital revenue, control costs, and ensure sustainable growth through informed operational decision‑making.
n
- Implement and monitor processes to improve workflow, optimise resource allocation, and enhance patient and staff satisfaction.
n
- Develop and review policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
n
- Manage budgets, oversee procurement, and maintain robust financial controls in collaboration with relevant teams.
n
- Prepare reports, analyse performance data,
and make recommendations to leadership for strategic improvement.
n
- Support risk management and quality assurance initiatives, identifying and addressing potential challenges proactively.
n
Selection Criteria nn
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in healthcare operations management having worked in either the public or private hospital system.
n
- Strong business acumen with the ability to be commercial in your management decisions.
n
- Demonstrated leadership and management abilities with a track record of building effective teams and fostering positive workplace culture.
n
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders across all levels.
n
- Strong organisational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills; able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced setting.
n
- Sound knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
n
- Financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, procurement, and financial reporting.
n
- Ability to adapt to change and drive innovation within a multidisciplinary team environment.
n
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in healthcare management, business administration, or a related discipline are highly regarded.
