Job Description
RCD Consulting is a veteran-owned consultancy supporting Defence. We are seeking experienced contract and commercial management professionals to help Defence teams manage contractual obligations, supplier performance and commercial risk.

The work will involve practical contract administration, clear commercial advice and coordination with Commonwealth stakeholders and industry. Defence experience is highly valued, particularly experience working within CASG or providing above-the-line commercial support.

Canberra-based candidates are preferred. Interstate candidates are also encouraged to apply, with location and working arrangements considered against the requirements of each engagement.

Key responsibilities nn
- develop and maintain contract management plans, registers and supporting records
n
- monitor and report on contractor performance, contractual obligations, milestones and deliverables
n
- provide commercial advice on contract interpretation, risks and issues, and recommend appropriate action
n
- prepare contract change proposals (CCPs) and supporting documentation, including assessments of scope, cost and commercial risk
n
- prepare and manage survey and quote (S&Q;) tasks, including quotation review and supporting approval documentation
n
- support contract negotiations, variations and the resolution of contractual claims and disputes, working with relevant specialists
n
- review invoices and milestone payment documentation, and monitor contract expenditure and financial commitments
n
- prepare commercial briefs, approval submissions and contract review material, maintaining compliance with Commonwealth and Defence requirements.
n
- a current Australian Government security clearance of NV1 or higher
n
- substantial commercial or contract management experience in a complex environment
n
- practical experience administering ASDEFCON or equivalent complex contracts, including contract change proposals and supplier performance management
n
- sound understanding of Commonwealth Procurement Rules, probity and commercial governance requirements
n
- strong commercial judgement, written communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.

Highly desirable nn
- direct Defence or CASG experience, particularly providing commercial advice and contract management support to Commonwealth teams
n
- experience preparing and managing S&Q; tasks under Defence contracts
n
- relevant qualifications in contract management, procurement, commerce, business or law.
