Job Description Payroll Officer – 12 Month Contract n
West Perth | 12-Month Contract | ???? ASAP Start | $94.000 + Super | One day work from home.

An exciting opportunity has become available with a globally recognised Tier 1 mining company in West Perth.
n
Working within Finance Systems and Operations, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of the organisation's fortnightly payroll using SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP) .
n
This is more than a traditional payroll processing role. You will be involved in first-pass payroll checks, reconciliations, reporting and system testing, while also having the opportunity to identify and contribute to improvements in payroll processes.
Key Responsibilities n
n
- n
Process end-to-end fortnightly payroll in SAP ECP, including pay smoothing, salary sacrifice and standard termination payments.
n
- n
Set up new employees, including TFNs, tax declarations and superannuation.
n
- n
Prepare fortnightly EFT requisitions and submit for approval.
n
- n
Prepare payroll variance reports and complete first-pass reviews against previous pay runs.
n
- n
Reconcile net pay to bank files.
n
- n
Support STP, superannuation and payroll tax reconciliations .
n
- n
Respond to payroll queries from employees and leaders within agreed service timeframes.
n
- n
Liaise with the People Support Centre regarding appointments, terminations and payroll changes.
n
- n
Participate in user acceptance testing for payroll system changes.
n
- n
Maintain and update payroll procedures.
n
- n
Identify opportunities to streamline,
simplify or automate payroll processes.
n
About You n
To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
- n
Proven experience processing payroll within a complex employment environment , including allowances, deductions, rosters and bonuses.
n
- n
Experience managing high-volume, high-transaction payrolls .
n
- n
Experience with SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP) or a comparable enterprise payroll system.
n
- n
Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance, including:
n n
- n
Fair Work Act
n
- n
National Employment Standards
n
- n
Modern Awards
n
- n
PAYG
n
- n
Superannuation
n
- n
Single Touch Payroll (STP)
n
n
- n
Strong Excel skills, including the ability to work with existing formulas and Pivot Tables.
n
- n
Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on numerical accuracy and data integrity.
n
- n
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain payroll matters clearly to employees and managers.
n
- n
A high level of discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive employee information.
n
Desirable Experience n
It would be advantageous if you have:
n
n
- n
Payroll experience within mining, resources or another rostered/FIFO workforce environment .
n
- n
A Certificate IV in Payroll Administration or equivalent payroll experience.
n
- n
Experience with payroll system testing, process improvement or automation.
n
n
