We are currently seeking a reliable and hands-on Trade Assistant to join their manufacturing and maintenance team on a casual basis, with a genuine opportunity to transition into a permanent position for the right person.

About the Role n

Working alongside experienced Maintenance Supervisors, you will provide day-to-day support to help keep the manufacturing facility operating safely and efficiently.

n

This is a physically active, hands-on role suited to someone who is mechanically minded, practical and eager to develop their technical skills in a modern manufacturing environment.

n

No two days will be the same, with duties ranging from assisting with maintenance activities and machinery setup through to general workshop and factory support.

Key Responsibilities n

n
- n

Assist Maintenance Supervisors with daily maintenance activities.

n
- n

Support preventative maintenance schedules and equipment breakdown repairs.

n
- n

Assist with machinery setup, tool changes and basic mechanical tasks.

n
- n

Perform basic grinding, drilling, cutting and use of power tools.

n
- n

Assist with workshop maintenance, factory improvements and general repairs.

n
- n

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and gantry cranes where appropriately licensed and trained.

- n

Receive, move and organise materials throughout the factory.

n
- n

Maintain tools, equipment and work areas to a high standard.

n
- n

Complete maintenance records as required.

n
- n

Maintain a clean, organised and hazard-free work environment.

n
- n

Follow all WHS policies, procedures and safe work practices.

n

Safety & Housekeeping n

Safety and housekeeping are non-negotiable.

You will be expected to:

Maintain clean and organised work areas.

Return tools and equipment to their correct locations.

Remove waste and hazards as you work.

About You n

You will ideally have:

Previous experience working in a manufacturing, workshop or trade environment.

Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.

n
- n

Experience safely using power tools.

n
- n

The ability to take direction and work effectively as part of a team.

Good communication skills.

A strong commitment to workplace safety and housekeeping.

The physical capability to perform manual handling and hands-on duties.

Essential Requirements nn

Previous experience in a trade, workshop or manufacturing environment.

Mechanical aptitude.

n
- n

Current Australian Driver's Licence.

- n

Current Forklift Licence.

n
- n

Full Australian working rights.

n
- n

Physically fit and capable of manual work.

n
- n

Strong commitment to WHS and protected work practices.

Highly Regarded nn
- n

Mechanical trade qualification or trade certificate.

n
- n

Experience in injection moulding.

n
- n

Welding, grinding or fabrication experience.

n
- n

Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.

n
- n

Experience using maintenance software.

n
- n

WHS training or relevant certificates.

n
