An exciting chance has arisen for an Assistant Cost Controller to join a growing finance team within an established business based in Runcorn, Cheshire .
Key Responsibilities n
n
- Process a high volume of cost of sales, agency and supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
n
- Carry out 3-way matching between purchase orders, goods received notes and invoices.
n
- Manage the Accounts Department inbox, responding to supplier queries and ensuring issues are resolved promptly.
n
- Complete regular supplier statement reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
n
- Assist with investigating and resolving aged items on the GRNI report.
n
- Process monthly credit card reconciliations and staff expense claims.
n
- Support the Lead Cost Controller with information and validation for weekly BACS payment runs.
n
- Assist with the accurate filing and tracking of subcontractor documentation, including administrative support relating to CIS and retention tracking.
n
- Support data cleansing and finance administration as part of ongoing systems and ERP development.
n
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure processes are completed in line with company procedures.
n
About You n
We are looking for someone who is organised, detail-focused and confident working within a busy finance environment.
Ideally, You Will Have n
n
- 1-3 years' experience in Accounts Payable, Cost Control, Finance Administration or a similar role.
n
- AAT part-qualified or currently studying would be advantageous.
n
- An understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and 3-way matching.
n
- Good Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
n
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to processing information.
n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
n
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively to deadlines.
n
- A proactive approach with the confidence to investigate queries and resolve discrepancies.
n
