State Manager – VIC/TAS
Premium Menswear & Womenswear Retailer
n Our client is a highly regarded premium fashion retailer with a strong presence across Australia, renowned for quality, style and exceptional customer experiences across both menswear and womenswear.
n We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven State Manager to lead the VIC/TAS retail network and play a key role in driving continued growth, operational excellence and team performance.

About the Role n

Reporting to the senior leadership team, the State Manager will take ownership of the VIC/TAS retail portfolio, providing strategic leadership across stores while ensuring the customer experience, commercial performance and brand standards remain at an exceptional level.

This is a hands‑on leadership role for an experienced retail professional who understands the premium fashion environment and knows how to inspire high‑performing teams, develop talent and deliver strong commercial results.

You will be responsible for leading a multi-store network, partnering with Store Managers and their teams, identifying opportunities for growth and ensuring every store consistently delivers against business expectations.

Responsibilities n

- Lead and inspire the VIC/TAS retail network, ensuring stores achieve and exceed sales and KPI targets
n
- Develop and implement strategies to drive sales, profitability and overall commercial performance
n
- Coach,



mentor and develop Store Managers and their teams to build a high-performance culture
n
- Monitor store performance, identifying trends, opportunities and areas requiring improvement
n
- Ensure exceptional customer service and a premium brand experience across all locations
n
- Drive accountability around sales, conversion, UPT, average transaction value and other key retail metrics
n
- Oversee workforce planning, rostering and effective labour management
n
- Partner with VM teams to ensure stores consistently reflect brand and presentation standards
n
- Support recruitment, succession planning and talent development across the state
n
- Ensure operational, compliance and company standards are consistently maintained
n
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and key business partners
n
- Provide regular reporting, insights and recommendations to senior leadership
n
- Support recent store openings, refits and key business initiatives as required
n

Skills & Experience nn
- Proven senior retail leadership experience, ideally within premium, luxury or high-end fashion
n
- Experience managing a multi-store network or significant retail portfolio
n




- Strong commercial acumen with a demonstrated understanding of retail KPIs and financial performance
n
- A genuine passion for menswear and womenswear fashion and the customer experience
n
- Strong leadership capability with the ability to coach, motivate and develop Store Managers
n
- Highly commercial, results-driven and comfortable being accountable for performance
n
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
n
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across a large geographic territory
n
- A hands‑on, energetic and solutions‑focused leadership style
n
- Experience working within a premium brand environment where service, presentation and brand standards are paramount
n
- A current driver's licence and flexibility to travel across VIC and TAS
n
