The role is available for an immediate start , with the initial engagement running through to 18 December , with potential for further work in January and February .

The Role n
The key focus of this position will be supporting development assessment referrals , including:
n
n
- Reviewing traffic impacts associated with development applications.
n
- Assessing car parking requirements and traffic generation.
n
- Reviewing developer contributions and associated transport considerations.
n
- Providing advice on road safety matters.
n
- Providing traffic and transport advice to planners, designers, management and other internal teams.
n
- Responding to customer service requests and enquiries, including Councillor requests.
n
- Supporting active and public transport issues and small projects.
n
- Working with the Local Transport Forum.
n
- Liaising with the Signage and Linemarking team.
n
- Providing practical technical advice and recommendations across a range of traffic and transport matters.
n
n
There is no requirement for staff supervision or management , with the successful candidate working as part of a small engineering team.
About You n
We are looking for someone who has:
n
n
- A Bachelor of Engineering, Graduate Diploma or equivalent qualification in Traffic and/or Transport Engineering .
n
- Demonstrated experience in traffic and transport engineering.
n
- Strong experience in development assessment / DA referrals and traffic impact assessment.
n
- Knowledge of traffic generation, car parking, road safety and transport planning.
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
n
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a small engineering team.
n
- Local government experience is highly regarded.
n
