We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment, preparing, seasoning and cooking a diverse range of authentic Asian and hotpot-style dishes while maintaining consistent standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and safety.

Qualifications & Experience n

- Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent relevant qualification.
n
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen environment.
n
- Sound knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, ingredients and commercial kitchen equipment.
n
- Good understanding of food quality, produce handling and storage requirements.
n
- Ability to prepare and cook food consistently in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.
n
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
n
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
n
- Experience in Asian cuisine and hotpot-style food preparation will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities nn
- Examine ingredients and food products to ensure freshness, quality and suitability for preparation and cooking.
n
- Prepare, season and cook a variety of Asian and hotpot-style dishes in accordance with established recipes and restaurant standards.
n
- Operate and regulate the temperatures of ovens, grills, burners and other commercial cooking equipment.
n




- Prepare ingredients by cleaning, cutting, portioning, marinating, seasoning and undertaking other required food preparation activities.
n
- Monitor food during the cooking process to ensure appropriate cooking times, temperatures, flavour, texture and quality.
n
- Portion and present cooked food appropriately, including adding sauces, garnishes and accompaniments as required.
n
- Prepare food to accommodate customers' special dietary requirements where required.
n
- Store food and ingredients appropriately, including in temperature-controlled facilities, in accordance with food safety requirements.
n
- Monitor the quality of ingredients and prepared food and report any quality or stock issues as required.
n
- Assist with estimating food requirements and monitoring stock levels to support efficient kitchen operations and minimise wastage.
n
- Assist with menu preparation and new food offerings where required.
n
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic food preparation and cooking area.
n
- Clean and maintain cooking equipment, utensils and work areas in accordance with workplace procedures.
n
- Follow all food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and front-of-house employees to support efficient food preparation and service.

- Assist in training and supporting junior kitchen staff where required.
