About The Role n
As an Admissions Clerk, you will be a key first point of contact for patients and carers, providing a professional and caring service throughout the admission and pre-admission process. You will coordinate elective admissions and discharges and support the smooth flow of patients through a busy Pre-admission Clinic.
n
Working closely with Perioperative Services and Access & Flow, you will provide reception, clerical and coordination support across surgical services, helping ensure an efficient and positive patient experience.
Key Accountabilities n
n
- Coordinate elective admissions, discharges and patient flow across surgical services.
n
- Provide welcoming, professional reception and clerical support to patients and carers.
n
- Manage patient flow through the busy Pre-admission Clinic.
n
- Respond to enquiries by phone, electronically and in person.
n
- Liaise with clinical and administrative teams to support efficient operating lists and patient flow.
n
- Maintain accurate patient records and escalation issues that may impact service delivery
n
About You n
You are calm, friendly and patient-focused, with strong communication and organisational skills. You enjoy working collaboratively and take pride in providing high-quality customer service.

- Communicate clearly and respectfully with a diverse range of stakeholders.
n
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and maintain accurate databases and records.
n
- Bring a reliable, team-focused approach and contribute positively to the workplace.
n
- Promote and maintain a safe, inclusive and respectful environment.
n
- Previous healthcare experience is desirable but not essential. Strong people skills and a collaborative approach are highly valued.
