George Fisher Mine (GFM) is a long-established underground mining operation in the Mount Isa region and forms part of Glencore's Queensland operations. The operation continues to invest in its future through a significant pipeline of sustaining capital, improvement and engineering projects .

n

An prospect now exists for an experienced Superintendent - Engineering Projects to lead the engineering projects function through the next phase of operational improvement and capital delivery.

n

Reporting to the Manager, GFM Maintenance, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and cost-conscious delivery of a broad portfolio of sustaining capital, improvement initiatives and longer-term engineering projects .

You will lead a multidisciplinary team across Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Structural engineering , working closely with Maintenance, Reliability, Operations and Technical stakeholders to identify opportunities, develop project strategies and deliver outcomes that support the long-term performance of the operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Engineer, Project Manager or Engineering Manager looking to step into a Superintendent-level leadership role.

Key Responsibilities n

n
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary Engineering Projects team.
n




- Lead the planning and delivery of sustaining capital and longer-term engineering projects .
n
- Prioritise and resource projects in line with operational requirements and business priorities.
n
- Ensure projects are delivered safely and to agreed scope, schedule and budget.
n
- Manage project budgets, forecasting and financial performance.
n
- Provide engineering support across maintenance, reliability, safety and operations.
n
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, asset optimisation and continuous improvement.
n
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and contractors to ensure effective project delivery.
n
- Support planned plant shutdowns and major maintenance activities where required.
n
- Coach and develop engineers and project personnel.
n
- Contribute to engineering standards, asset strategy and the ongoing improvement of the operation.

You'll Bring nn
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering .
n
- 7+ years' experience within mining, heavy industry or a similar operational environment.
n
- Strong experience across engineering projects, capital delivery, sustaining capital or maintenance engineering .
n
- Experience leading engineering or project teams.
n
- Demonstrated experience managing project budgets and financial performance.
n




- Strong understanding of project delivery principles and engineering standards.
n
- Exposure to asset management, maintenance strategy or reliability.
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
n
- Strong commercial, problem-solving and decision-making capability.
n
- Experience with SAP or similar maintenance / asset management systems.
n
- S1, S2 and S3 qualifications.
n
