Our client, a global Defence sustainment and engineering services provider, is looking for a Cyber Security Subject Matter Expert to join a complex Defence acquisition project in Canberra.

This is a hands‑on role supporting cyber certification, accreditation, and secure‑by‑design outcomes across capability solutions, with direct engagement with
n Defence, industry, and coalition partners.

You’ll be one of the go‑to cyber voices on the project, shaping how certification and accreditation gets done rather than just reviewing it after the fact.

Cyber & Data Engineer – NV1 (NV2 Preferred) | Canberra n

What you'll be doing n

n
- Identify and analyse cyber security requirements for capability solutions
n
- Support cyber security governance and system security engineering activities
n




- Develop and maintain Cyber Certification and Accreditation Plans for approval
n
- Assess designs and architectures against Defence security requirements
n
- Conduct risk analyses to identify vulnerabilities and threats, and recommend mitigation strategies
n
- Develop security architecture products and assurance documentation
n
- Support stakeholder engagement with Defence, industry and coalition partners
n
- Contribute cyber security input into design reviews and project gate reviews as the project progresses
n

What you'll bring Must-have: nn
- Minimum 6 years' experience, preferably within the Defence sector
n
- Experience in complex acquisition projects
n
- Relevant experience fulfilling the responsibilities above
n

Desirable: nn
- Experience developing Cyber Certification and Accreditation Plans specifically
n
- Exposure to secure‑by‑design principles on Defence capability projects
n
- Comfortable working across coalition and multi‑stakeholder environments
n

Essential requirement n

This role requires a minimum NV1 clearance with the ability to obtain NV2;
n NV2 is preferred.
