Enterprise Monkey is a Geelong-based AI consultancy and software development company. We've been around since 2014 and hold ISO 27001 certification. We work with Australian businesses and have a team here and in India. We're growing our AI services and want our books to keep pace.

The role n

We're looking for an experienced bookkeeper to take ownership of our Xero file. The first few weeks are a clean-up at 2 days a week: fix what's there, set it up properly and build good habits. After that, it drops to 1 day a week to keep everything current and accurate.

Clean-up phase (2 days a week) n

n
- Restructure our chart of accounts so revenue and costs split cleanly between our traditional services and AI services
n
- Reconcile our PayPal account (USD and AUD, with currency conversions), plus Wise, Amex and our line of credit
n
- Review our software subscriptions (including usage-based AI costs), code them correctly and set up Xero bank rules
n
- Tidy up how payments to our offshore team are recorded
n
- Set up Dext (or similar) and one shared inbox so every invoice and receipt lands in one place
n




- Help us get cash flow reporting out of Xero rather than a spreadsheet
n

Ongoing (1 day a week) nn
- Weekly bank reconciliations across all accounts
n
- Enter and code supplier bills
n
- Fortnightly payroll for 5 staff in Xero: timesheets, leave, super and Single Touch Payroll (STP), with pay files prepared for approval
n
- Get monthly IAS and quarterly BAS figures ready for our accountants, who lodge them
n
- A short monthly report and a weekly checklist so nothing builds up
n

About you nn
- Experience with bookkeeping in Xero, including payroll and STP
n
- Comfortable with multi-currency reconciliation (PayPal, Wise, foreign exchange)
n
- You've cleaned up a messy file before and enjoy leaving things better than you found them
n
- Organised, clear, and happy to ask questions early
n
- Based in or near Geelong, and able to work from our office some of the time
n
- Registered BAS Agent status or a Cert IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping is a plus, but not essential. Our accountants lodge BAS.
