The Role n
Centacare Adelaide metro offers an opportunity for an experienced Disability Support Worker (DSW) to join us on a casual basis. We offer a range of services, including a day options program in Plympton and 24/7 supported accommodation services across various locations in the Adelaide metropolitan area, including Elizabeth, Hectorville, Woodville, and Noarlunga. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality direct care services to our clients and supporting them in achieving their personal goals.

Other responsibilities include:
n
n
- Supervise and support clients with daily living activities and personal care needs, either individually or as part of a team.
n
- Facilitate community access opportunities for clients, including social events and medical appointments.
n
- Maintain accurate documentation to monitor and report on client progress and health care.
n
- Implement educational, skill development, and social activity programs for clients.
n
- Assist in developing, implementing, and reviewing clients' Individual Support Plans to ensure personalized care.
n
- Provide person-centered support tailored to each client's goals and foster increased skill development and independence.
n
About You n
As an experienced support worker dedicated to helping people with disabilities, you will bring a comprehensive understanding of the NDIS Practice Standards and demonstrate a robust commitment to a person-centred approach. Your genuine passion for empowering individuals with disabilities will shine through as you assist them in achieving their goals and fostering the development of recent skills.

Other skills and qualifications include:
n
n
- Certificate III in Disability Services or Individual Support or acceptable alternative
n
n
OR
n
n
- A commitment to undertake a Certificate III in Individual Support within 6 months of starting, and to complete it within 2 years of employment.
n
- Valid (DHS) Working with children check (WWCC) - employers check
n
- Valid NDIS Worker Check
n
- Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
n
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
n
- Completion of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission - New Worker NDIS Induction Modules and Worker Orientation Module
n
- Ability to comply with Centacare Policy COVID-19 Vaccination requirements
n
- Ability and availability to work outside of normal hours, including weekends, overnights and evenings
n
- Must be willing to work extra shifts, as required
n
- Willingness to transport clients either in a Centacare Vehicle or your own motor vehicle and comply with the Grey Fleet Vehicle Contract
n
Desirable n

- Experience working with people with a disability and their families
n
- Experience working in community based human service
n
