Heavy Diesel Mechanic – Workshop & Field Role n

Base Pay Range: A$50.00/hr – A$55.00/hr

Downer is seeking skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanics, Technicians, or Fitters to join our team in Swanbank, QLD. This hybrid role offers the best of both worlds: workshop‑based maintenance and the variety of field service. One day you’ll be in the workshop, the next you’ll be on site diagnosing faults and keeping projects moving.

Key Responsibilities nn
- Service, repair, and maintain heavy plant machinery and trucks
n
- Diagnose and resolve breakdowns in the field
n




- Ensure all work meets Downer’s high safety and operational standards
n
- Work collaboratively within a skilled team while also operating independently
n

About You nn
- Trade qualification in Heavy Diesel Mechanics, Plant Mechanics, or Fitting (essential)
n
- Strong hydraulic knowledge and diagnostic skills
n
- Experience with mobile plant, trucks, and heavy equipment
n
- Auto electrical experience (highly regarded)
n
- HR and Forklift licences (desirable)
n
- A proactive approach and commitment to safety
n
