Responsibilities n
n
- Deliver discipline specific engineering services that meet Worley, the client’s and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
n
- Undertake engineering design and technical verification of discipline project deliverables by others (within your technical capability).
n
- Ensure a 'fit for purpose' solution from concept through to as built is developed considering safe and sustainable design, constructability, commissioning phases, operability, maintainability and decommissioning.
n
- Proactively seek an understanding of the safety hazards and risks associated with the asset lifecycle of the designed product, plant or structure; be responsible for action and close out where relevant.
n
- Identify issues and problems; develop appropriate and creative solutions; and ask for assistance if required.
n
- Proactive interest in leveraging digital and AI-enabled tools in day-to-day work.
n
- Perform and/or manage discipline specific engineering services.
n
- Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes to scope comply with project change management processes.
n
- Prepare/assist or oversee the production of engineering calculations, drawings and documentation.
n
- Ensure all deliverables are checked in accordance with Worley checking procedures.
n
- Participate in project reviews, HAZIDs/HAZOPs and safety in design workshops as required.
n
- Prepare engineering estimates for the electrical discipline in response to requests for quotation including:
n n
- detail methodologies and/or engineering tasks in scope and those out of scope.
n
- clarify and detail assumptions, exclusions, relied upon information and the deliverables list.
n
- input into the schedule incorporating a realistic delivery sequence for the discipline with consideration to project milestones; input from other disciplines and receival of relied upon information.
n
- ascertaining resources required based on availability.
n
n
- Communicate effectively and regularly with the project stakeholders/team including the Workshare team, Lead Engineer/Designer and Project Managers.
n
- Establish and maintain relationships with contractors, the client and other Worley personnel.
n
- Actively contribute to the development and improvement of Worley engineering systems, processes, practices, and procedures.
n
- In a project lead capacity (where relevant):
n
n
- Manage sequence of engineering tasks at a high level to ensure delivery according to project schedules (including activities by third party contractors).
n
- Be the primary interface with customer for discipline-specific engineering issues.
n
- Ensure technical integrity of the discipline deliverables through the implementation of checking and design review activities.
n
- Provide technical direction, control and supervision for engineering and design on the project.
n
- Responsible for delivering discipline design deliverables within schedule and budget.
n
- Maintain discipline task and deliverables lists for the project.
n
- Manage quality and consistency within the discipline.
n
- Coordinate change control and technical query process within the discipline.
n
- Manage discipline resources assigned to the project; this also includes providing active feedback to individuals.
n
- Reporting progress of discipline deliverables.
n
- Maintain discipline files and follow Worley Way processes.
n
- Coordinate design with other disciplines and squad checking deliverables.
n
n
- Tertiary qualifications with a 4-year bachelor's degree in engineering majoring in Electrical Power or Electrical Engineering.
n
- Minimum 10 years technical experience in the Refinery/Smelter/Mining or similar industry; including experience leading projects on a discipline level.
n
- Extensive experience (>6 years recent) in brownfield electrical systems modification detailed design and knowledge of instrumentation and control system interfaces.
n
- Must have ability to work across multiple projects.
n
- Experience across all phases of engineering projects.
n
- Excellent understanding of Australian electrical standards.
n
- Hazardous Area Accreditation (desirable) and/or Functional Safety TUV Certification (beneficial).
n
- Good understanding and proven experience in:
n
n
- Equipment sizing, cable routing, equipment layouts, lighting design, earthing design, arc flash requirements and HV switchgear and MCC design.
n
- Control system interfacing and instrumentation.
n
- Electrical calculations required for design.
n
- Protection systems and relay settings (overcurrent, earth fault, motors, VSDs).
n
- Creation of design drawings such as SLDs, schematics, terminations, schedules, layouts.
n
- Site experience such as scoping solutions, equipment inspections, construction and commissioning.
n
- Witnessing and inspection of equipment during FATs, SATs.
n
- Preparing ITPs, MTOs, datasheets, specifications, construction methodologies, philosophy documents, procurement requisitions and construction scope of works packages.
n
- Input into electrical estimates and execution schedules.
n
- Understanding of shutdown planning and considerations for design.
n
