Senior Contracts Advisor

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Contracts Advisor to join a well-established mining operation and play a key role within the Procurement & Supply Chain team. Reporting to the Logistics & Contracts Manager, this is a senior, hands‑on position responsible for leading the sourcing, negotiation, formation and execution of high‑value contracts across maintenance, mining, civil works, logistics, capital equipment and operational services.

We’re looking for someone who thrives on negotiating commercial outcomes, building strong relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels . The successful candidate will be a confident communicator who can work effectively with operational teams, suppliers, contractors and senior leadership to achieve the best outcomes for the business.

About the Role

- Lead end‑to‑end sourcing, tendering, negotiation and contract award activities.
- Negotiate commercial and contractual terms to achieve best‑value outcomes while effectively managing risk.
- Manage complex, high‑value and strategically important contracts across a diverse portfolio.
- Prepare, review and finalise contract documentation, schedules and commercial correspondence.
- Lead tender evaluations and prepare recommendations for contract award.
- Manage commercial and contractual risk through well‑structured contract terms and conditions.
- Support contract owners with scope development, variations, contractor performance and dispute resolution.
- Develop and improve contract templates, standards and contracting frameworks.
- Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, contractors and service providers.
- Mentor and support junior contracts and procurement team members.
- Ensure compliance with procurement governance, policies, delegations and contractual obligations.

About You





- Extensive experience in contract management, procurement or commercial roles within mining, resources, construction, civil or heavy industry environments.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating and managing complex, high‑value contracts.
- Strong commercial acumen and a sound understanding of contract law principles and commercial risk allocation.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence outcomes across operational, commercial and leadership teams.
- Proven ability to negotiate commercially favourable outcomes while maintaining strong supplier and contractor relationships.
- Experience leading tender processes, contract awards and supplier negotiations.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience managing contractor performance, variations and commercial issues.
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively across multiple business functions.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Highly Regarded

- Mining, resources or heavy industry experience.
- Experience managing maintenance, mining services, civil works or major project contracts.
- Exposure to Australian Standard contracts (AS4000, AS2124, AS4902, AS4906).
- Skilled qualifications such as CIPS, WorldCC/IACCM or similar.
- Experience supporting operational and capital project environments.
- Experience within underground mining operations.
