Team Leader – Insurance Repairs
Are you highly organised, confident leading a team and experienced in insurance repairs, restoration or make-safe works? n
We are looking for an experienced Make Safe Team Leader to join a well-established insurance repair and building business on the Sunshine Coast.
n
This is a key leadership position for someone who thrives in a quick-paced environment, can confidently coordinate multiple jobs and priorities, and genuinely enjoys leading people.
n
You’ll oversee the day-to-day Make Safe function, coordinating field teams, subcontractors and urgent works while ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently and within insurer requirements.
The Role n
You’ll be responsible for:
n
n
- Leading, supporting and coordinating the Make Safe team
n
- Managing the allocation and scheduling of Make Safe jobs
n
- Prioritising urgent works based on risk, safety and insurer timeframes
n
- Coordinating trades, restorers, field technicians and subcontractors
n
- Monitoring jobs from initial response through to completion and handover
n
- Liaising with insurers, loss adjusters, customers and internal teams
n
- Reviewing Make Safe scopes, costs and contractor invoices
n
- Monitoring SLAs, response times, job progress and quality
n
- Ensuring accurate photos, reports, documentation and job updates are completed
n
- Managing supplier and subcontractor performance
n
- Supporting WHS compliance and safe work practices
n
- Coaching and developing team members
n
- Helping improve systems, processes and operational efficiencies
n
- Assisting with CAT/storm response and high-volume periods when required
n
About You n
We’re looking for someone who is organised, confident and comfortable taking ownership.
n
Ideally, you will have experience within:
n
n
- Insurance building repairs
n
- Make Protected / emergency response
n
- Restoration
n
- Reactive maintenance
n
- Building or construction coordination
n
- Field team or subcontractor management
n
n
You’ll need to be someone who can keep a lot of moving parts organised without becoming overwhelmed.
n
You’ll also have:
n
n
- Strong leadership skills and confidence managing a team
n
- Excellent scheduling and coordination abilities
n
- The ability to prioritise quickly when urgent jobs come through
n
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
n
- A practical understanding of building and construction
n
- Experience dealing with trades and subcontractors
n
- Good commercial awareness around costs, scopes and invoicing
n
- Strong computer and job management system skills
n
- A calm, solutions-focused approach when things get busy
n
n
Experience dealing directly with insurers, loss adjusters, strata managers or insurance repair stakeholders would be highly regarded.
n
A trade or building/construction background is advantageous, along with a White Card and relevant industry tickets.
