Medical Administration Officer – Tribunal Services n
The Opportunity
n
We are seeking an experienced Medical Administration Officer to provide high-quality administrative and coordination support within a specialist government team supporting independent medical assessment processes.
n
This is an initial 6-month contract with potential for extension, offering the opportunity to work within a Queensland Government environment supporting medical professionals, decision-makers and stakeholders through a structured assessment process.
n
You will be responsible for managing confidential documentation, preparing accurate correspondence and reports, maintaining electronic files, coordinating appointments and providing professional support throughout the assessment process.
n
The role is suited to an experienced administrator who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has strong attention to detail and is confident managing complex information, competing priorities and stakeholder relationships.
As a Medical Administration Officer – Tribunal Services, you will: n
n
- Provide high-quality administrative and secretariat support to medical decision-makers, ensuring they have accurate and complete information to undertake their role;
n
- Prepare, format and quality-check correspondence, reports and assessment documentation with a high level of accuracy;
n
- Undertake electronic file management within a paperless environment, including document organisation, PDF management and maintaining accurate records;
n
- Coordinate assessment appointments and liaise professionally with workers, representatives, insurers and medical professionals;
n
- Support virtual assessments and meetings,
including coordinating technology requirements and ensuring processes run smoothly;
n
- Manage confidential information appropriately while maintaining accurate data entry and records across relevant systems;
n
- Undertake transcription and document preparation activities, including responding to time-sensitive requests and meeting deadlines; and
n
- Identify opportunities to improve administrative processes and contribute to productive service delivery.

Required Experience nn
- Demonstrated experience providing administrative support in a fast-paced environment requiring accuracy, confidentiality and strong attention to detail;
n
- Advanced word processing skills with experience preparing professional documentation, correspondence and reports;
n
- Experience using electronic records management systems and working within a paperless office environment;
n
- Strong data entry skills and confidence learning and using digital systems and software platforms;
n
- Ability to prioritise competing tasks, manage deadlines and maintain quality outcomes under pressure; and
n
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally with a range of stakeholders.
n
Highly regarded: nn
- Previous experience in medical administration, healthcare, insurance, workers compensation, legal or government environments;
n
- Experience with Dictaphone typing, transcription or audio-to-text document preparation;
n
- Experience using Adobe Acrobat / PDF editing tools and electronic document management systems;
n
- Knowledge of medical terminology or experience working with medical reports and assessments; and
n
- Understanding of workers compensation processes or legislative environments.
