Macrospec is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Field Service Technician to join our team in North Geelong.

n

We service and support leading egg grading, packing and processing equipment across Australia. This is a hands‑on role where no two days are the same — one call might have you fault‑finding PLCs, drives and sensors, and the next working on conveyors, bearings, chains or pneumatics.

What you’ll be doing n

n
- Install, commission, service and maintain automated processing equipment.
n
- Fault-find and repair electrical, PLC/control and mechanical systems .
n
- Work directly with customers across egg and poultry operations.
n
- Complete preventative maintenance and breakdown work.
n
- Train customers on newly installed equipment.
n
- Maintain service records, tools, equipment and your company vehicle.
n
- Work safely and follow customer site and farm biosecurity requirements.
n

What we’re looking for n

You’ll be a practical, experienced technician who can diagnose the problem and fix it , rather than simply change parts.

n

You’ll need:

n

n
- Current Electrical Disconnect/Reconnect licence (Class D or equivalent) .
n
- Strong experience with automated, PLC-controlled machinery.
n
- Solid mechanical skills — drives, chains,



bearings, gearboxes, conveyors and pneumatics.
n
- Ability to work independently on customer sites.
n
- Good communication skills and a professional approach with customers.
n

Highly regarded: n

A-grade electrical licence, Siemens/Allen-Bradley PLC experience, food/packaging machinery experience, poultry industry experience, forklift or working-at-heights tickets.

The travel n

You’ll be based at our North Geelong workshop , with day travel across Victoria and approximately one week in every four outside Victoria . If you like the idea of your trade taking you around Australia — and occasionally overseas — this is an prospect to do exactly that.
