Veterinary Emergency Care Australia (VECA) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Nurse to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about animal care and thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting.

As a 24/7 clinic, our team covers a wide range of shifts, but we pride ourselves on flexible scheduling and working with you to create a schedule that fits your life.

Duties:
n
n
- Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment notes and inventory/stock control
n
- Provide guidance to clients on animal care, health, hygiene, and general wellbeing
n
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, including safely restraining animals
n
- Clean and sterilise examination areas, surgical instruments, and equipment in line with hygiene standards
n
- Prepare surgical instruments and support veterinarians during procedures
n
- Assist with the administration of anaesthesia and oxygen during surgical operations
n
- Monitor animals during post-operative recovery, including observing vital signs and overall condition
n
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
n
- Perform administrative duties such as reception, appointment scheduling, and payment processing
n

About You
n

- Passion for animal welfare and high standards of care
n
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
n
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
n
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
n
- Comfortable handling animals of various sizes and temperaments
n
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience as a Vet Nurse
n
- Relevant qualifications
n
n
Salary Range: $80,000- $90,000 base salary (depending on experience)
n
