n Central Highlands Regional Council is seeking an experienced Senior Development Compliance Officer to join our Emerald team. Working closely with the Coordinator Development & Planning, you'll lead investigations, assessments, inspections, and compliance activities while building your expertise across a diverse range of matters. To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess:
n
Mandatory:
n
n
- Minimum of Queensland C class provisional drivers licence.
n
- Degree qualification in Building, Compliance, Urban and Regional Planning or relevant discipline.
n
- Pool Safety certificate (or ability to obtain)
n
- General Construction Induction Carrd (or ability to obtain prior to commencement)
n
n
Level 6
n
Mandatory:
n
n
- Demonstrated experience in the enforcement of the provisions of the planning scheme, and relevant planning, plumbing and building legislation.
n
- Significant experience in the coordination and investigation of compliance matters on behalf of a local government.
n
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation of documentation, and capacity to act as a witness as necessary for enforcement action in the relevant courts.
n
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation of reports and work logs, including documentation that may be required for legal proceedings.
n
- Demonstrated experience to conduct investigations and inspections as required.
n
- High-level experience in the development, implementation, review and monitoring of policies, practices and guidelines to achieve corporate goals.
n
- Experience with the identification, preparation, implementation and monitoring of unit goals and objectives and developing strategies to ensure goals and objectives are achieved.
n
- Management of service delivery to ensure a customer service-focused culture that is committed to Council’s values and priorities.
n
- Demonstrated, high-level time management capabilities whilst handling multiple competing priorities that are sensitive in nature.
n
- 3-5 years’ experience in similar compliance role with preference for a local government compliance role.
n
n
Level 7 (in addition to the requirements identified above for a level 6)
n
Mandatory:
n
n
- Minimum 7 years' experience in similar compliance role with preference for local or state government compliance role.
n
- Extensive experience in the enforcement of the provisions of the planning scheme, relevant planning, plumbing and building legislation and understanding of council’s policies and procedures.
n
- Extensive experience with the identification, preparation, implementation and monitoring of unit goals and objectives and developing strategies and compliance programs to ensure goals and objectives are achieved.
n
- Demonstrated experience in operating in politically sensitive environments.
n
- Expertise in negotiating positive outcomes with high level customers.
n
- Demonstrated experience in effectively leading and managing teams.
n
