Junior Solicitor – Litigation & Commercial (0-3 years PAE) n

Morgan Conley is a boutique law firm located in the Brisbane CBD with a thriving commercial, litigation and insolvency practice. We operate a collaborative practice, and you will have the opportunity to work with and learn from each of our four directors.

We are conveniently located in 15 Adelaide Street, with easy access to the Queen Street Mall and public transport. The building includes end-of-trip facilities including showers, lockers and secure bike racks.

About the role

n
n

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a recently admitted solicitor or junior solicitor. You will work directly with experienced partners with a particular focus on litigation and insolvency and commercial transactions.

Your primary duties will include:

n

- Providing advice to clients;
n
n
- Document drafting and review, including court documents;
n
n
- Court appearances and mentions;
n
n
- Research of case law and legislation;
n
n
- Assistance with commercial litigation matters predominantly in the District and Supreme Courts of Queensland and Federal Court of Australia.
n
n

About you

You should be a solicitor admitted to practice in Queensland, with ideally up to 3 years PAE in litigation or commercial law.

The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated, confident, reliable and willing to work as part of a close‑knit team.

Ideal background and skills include:

- An interest in commercial transactions, litigation and insolvency;
n
n
- A good understanding of technology and robust typing ability;
n
n
- An interest in appearing in court, and willingness to do so;
n
n
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
n
n
- Strategic thinking;
n
n
- A quick learner with the ability to grasp new concepts;
n
n
- A team player;
n
n
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
