Your Role

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and passionate educator for the position of Classroom Support Assistant (First Nations Education) to join our team at St Anthony's Catholic Primary School, Rockhampton . This is a term-time continuing position for 27.5hpw, for an immediate commencement.

Selection Criteria The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate:

- A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and spiritualities.
n
- An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, their families and school staff to improve educational outcomes through targeted and direct academic support.

Mandatory Requirements

- A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and valid Suitability Notice is a requirement of the position.
n
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
n

n

It is a genuine occupational requirement that this position be filled by First Nation peoples, as permitted and arguable under Section 25 of the Qld Anti-Discrimination Act of 1991. The successful applicant will identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
