Join SeaLink South Australia—one of the state’s most trusted and well-established transport providers—while completing two nationally recognised qualifications supported by MRAEL.

You’ll begin with the essential Shipboard Safety Skillset , followed by completing a qualification in Marine Engine Driver Grade 2 (MED2) . Here, you’ll gain hands‑on experience assisting in the operation and maintenance of marine engines on commercial vessels.

Once you complete your MED2, you will progress to the Master 5 qualification—opening the door to applying for your command accreditation in the future.

nWhat You’ll Be Doing n
n

n
n
- Support daily ferry operations transporting passengers and freight between Cape Jervis and Kangaroo Island
n
n
- Assist Engineers with scheduled maintenance including coolant replacement, bellows, oil changes and refuelling
n
n
- Support the Ferry Café crew as needed, providing customer service
n
n
- Engage in vessel operations including navigation support, cleaning, security, and general ferry/wharf maintenance
n
n

n

7 days on / 7 days off (Wednesday–Tuesday), including weekends and public holidays.

- Reside near Cape Jervis or on Kangaroo Island

- Car and driver’s licence
n
n
- Current National Police Clearance
n

- Comfortable working at heights and within confined spaces

- Willing to undertake formal on-the-job training towards your Certificate III
