SPY Autotech Australia Pty Ltd – Bayswater VIC
Dyno Dynamics designs and manufactures specialised dynamometer and vehicle-testing equipment for the automotive industry. The immediate focus of the role is building and testing equipment in the factory - including electrical enclosures, wiring looms, cables and control boxes. As you learn our products, the role will progressively develop into fault diagnosis, customer technical support, remote support and field service. This is not a desk-based help-desk role and it is not purely an electronics assembly job. We are looking for someone who can build equipment, understand how it works, diagnose problems and communicate confidently with customers.
Key responsibilities
Build and wire electrical enclosures and control boxes
Manufacture wiring looms, cables and harnesses
Crimp, terminate, solder and assemble electrical and electronic components
Read wiring diagrams, schematics, assembly drawings and work instructions
Assist with final system assembly, integration and production records
Functionally test completed boxes, modules and systems before release
Use multimeters and other test equipment to check voltages, continuity, inputs, outputs, sensors and wiring
Methodically diagnose faults and identify wiring errors, poor crimps, failed components, damaged connectors and assembly problems
Provide technical support to customers by phone and email as product knowledge develops
Assist with dynamometer installation, commissioning, servicing and customer training as competency develops
About you
You enjoy practical, hands-on technical work and take pride in good workmanship
You have robust electrical aptitude and good fault-finding ability
You can approach an unfamiliar problem logically and work through it step by step
You are comfortable working on and around vehicles and in workshop environments
You can read wiring diagrams and technical information and use electrical test equipment confidently
You naturally enjoy talking to people and are comfortable speaking with customers on the phone
You can guide another person through a technical procedure remotely
You remain calm under pressure and can deal professionally with frustrated or difficult customers
You take ownership of problems and follow them through to a clear next step or resolution
A relevant trade or technical qualification would be highly regarded, particularly in automotive electrical, automotive mechanical, mechatronics, electrical/electronics, instrumentation or a similar field
