Job Description

Our client, a well established Brisbane based manufacturing business, is seeking a motivated Graduate Accountant to join its Finance team as part of a structured Graduate Program.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will complete rotations across the core finance functions, including accounts payable, financial and management accounting, cost accounting, budgeting and compliance. This is a genuine career launching opportunity, with full support provided towards your CA or CPA qualification.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with monthly management accounts, journals and balance sheet reconciliations
n
- Support month end and year end close processes
n
- Process accounts payable, including invoice coding, purchase order matching and payment run preparation
n
- Support cost centre reporting, standard costing and variance analysis
n
- Assist with inventory reconciliations, stock counts and COGS and gross margin summaries
n
- Help collate data for the annual budget and rolling forecasts, including variance to budget commentary
n
- Prepare audit working papers and assist with BAS, payroll tax and other statutory reporting
n
- Identify opportunities to improve the accuracy and efficiency of finance processes
n
- Build working relationships across Finance, Operations, Production and Supply Chain

About You

n

n




- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline, completed or due for completion within the next 12 months
n
- Eligible to enrol in, or have commenced, the CA or CPA program
n
- Strong academic record and a genuine interest in a career in accounting or finance
n
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office suite
n
- High attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical skills
n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
n
- A proactive, curious mindset and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
n
- Internship, vacation programme or part time finance experience, and a basic understanding of cost accounting or inventory concepts, will be highly regarded
n
