ABOUT NEXT ELECTRICAL & DATA n

Next Electrical & Data is a growing residential service and maintenance business helping homeowners across Melbourne's eastern suburbs.

n

Our work includes fault finding, switchboard and safety upgrades, lighting, power, EV chargers, CCTV, intercoms, data and general electrical improvements.

n

We are currently owner-operated, which means you won't disappear into a large crew or deal with layers of management. You'll work directly with the owner, receive hands-on support and have the opportunity to become a key part of the business as it grows.

ABOUT THE ROLE n

We're looking for a qualified A-Grade Electrician with residential service and maintenance experience.

n

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, communicates confidently with homeowners and wants to develop beyond purely technical electrical work.

n

You'll complete residential service calls, maintenance, fault finding, repairs, upgrades and installations while developing your customer-service, quoting and job-management skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Residential service calls, fault finding, repairs and maintenance
n
- Switchboard and electrical-safety upgrades
n
- Lighting, power and general electrical installations
n
- EV chargers, CCTV, intercoms and data work
n
- Explaining electrical issues and available solutions clearly to homeowners
n
- Identifying legitimate additional work that would improve the customer's safety, convenience or home
n
- Managing jobs professionally from arrival through to completion
n
- Working independently while following company systems and standards
n

PERFORMANCE AND EARNING POTENTIAL n

This position rewards electricians who produce quality work, communicate professionally and consistently achieve agreed performance targets.

n

As an example, generating $80,000 per month in qualifying additional work could produce approximately $6,000 in commission for that month. If achieved consistently across 12 months, this would represent approximately $72,000 in additional annual earnings on top of the base salary.

This is genuine performance-based earning potential—not guaranteed income. The higher you perform against the agreed KPIs, the more you can earn.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED n

- A current Victorian A-Grade Electrical Licence

- Unrestricted Australian working rights

- A current Australian driver's licence
n
- Residential service, maintenance, fault-finding and installation experience
n
- Strong safety awareness and pride in clean, compliant workmanship

- Clear, respectful communication and a customer-first attitude
n
- The confidence to explain findings and recommendations to homeowners

- The ability to work effectively without constant supervision
n
- A coachable attitude and willingness to follow systems
