About the Role n
At BMD, we're delivering infrastructure that connects communities, improves transport networks and creates lasting benefits for future generations. We are currently seeking a Traffic Engineer to join a major transport infrastructure project in Western Sydney, supporting the successful delivery of one of the region's most significant road upgrades. Reporting directly to the Project Traffic Manager, you will play a key role in the planning, coordination and implementation of traffic engineering and traffic management solutions throughout project delivery. This position offers the opportunity to work on a complex, high-profile project while gaining direct mentorship from an experienced traffic management leader.
Key Responsibilities n
n
- Assisting with the development, review and implementation of Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS) and Traffic Management Plans (TMPs)
n
- Coordinating temporary traffic arrangements to support construction activities
n
- Monitoring on-site traffic conditions and identifying opportunities for improvement
n
- Liaising with Transport for NSW, local authorities, subcontractors and key stakeholders
n
- Supporting approvals, permits and compliance requirements
n
- Assisting with traffic staging, construction methodology and access planning
n
- Conducting traffic assessments, investigations and reporting
n
- Providing traffic engineering advice to project and construction teams
n
- Ensuring all works comply with relevant standards, specifications and safety requirements
n
About You n
To be successful, you will have:
n
n
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering or a related discipline
n
- Experience working on road, transport or infrastructure projects
n
- Sound knowledge of TfNSW standards and traffic management requirements
n
- Experience reviewing or preparing traffic management documentation
n
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
n
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
n
- The ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic project setting
n
