Job Description Investment Strategy & Portfolio Constructionn

n
- Lead the development and implementation of investment strategies across listed markets, including Australian and global equities and other relevant public market exposures.
n
- Contribute to strategic and dynamic asset allocation decisions across the broader portfolio.
n
- Develop portfolio construction recommendations considering expected returns, risk, liquidity, diversification and investment objectives.
n
- Identify opportunities to enhance portfolio returns and improve risk-adjusted outcomes.
n
- Undertake detailed market, sector, manager and portfolio analysis to support investment decisions.
n
- Monitor macroeconomic, market and industry developments and assess their implications for the portfolio.
n

External Manager Selection & Oversightnn
- Lead the identification, research and due diligence of external investment managers.
n
- Assess investment philosophy, process, portfolio construction, organisational capability, performance, risk management and operational infrastructure.
n
- Make recommendations regarding manager appointments, terminations and changes to portfolio allocations.
n
- Maintain senior relationships with existing and prospective fund managers.
n
- Conduct regular manager reviews and challenge managers on performance, positioning, risk and investment decisions.
n
- Negotiate and review investment mandates and commercial arrangements in conjunction with relevant internal stakeholders.
n





Portfolio Management & Performancenn
- Monitor portfolio positioning, exposures, liquidity, risk and performance against investment objectives and benchmarks.
n
- Analyse investment performance and attribution at portfolio, strategy and manager level.
n
- Identify emerging portfolio risks and recommend appropriate actions.Evaluate new investment strategies, products and structures across listed markets.
n
- Work closely with investment operations, risk, finance and governance teams to ensure effective implementation and oversight of investment decisions.
n

Investment Committee & Stakeholder Managementnn
- Prepare high-quality investment papers, recommendations and presentations for senior leadership and Investment Committee consideration.
n
- Present investment recommendations and portfolio updates to Investment Committees, Boards and other senior stakeholders.
n
- Provide clear and commercially focused analysis of complex investment matters.
n
- Build strong relationships with investment managers, consultants, advisers, custodians and other external partners.
n
- Represent the organisation across the broader institutional investment community.
n

The Successful Applicantn





The successful candidate will bring significant experience within institutional investment management, funds management, superannuation, asset consulting, sovereign wealth, insurance or a comparable investment environment.
n You will ideally have:

n

n
- Approximately 10+ years of investment experience, with substantial exposure to listed/public markets.
n
- Solid experience across Australian and/or global equities, with broader multi-asset or listed markets exposure highly regarded.
n
- Demonstrated experience in external manager research, selection and monitoring.
n
- Strong knowledge of portfolio construction, asset allocation, investment risk and performance analysis.
n
- Experience undertaking investment due diligence and presenting investment recommendations.
n
- A strong understanding of institutional investment portfolios and governance frameworks.
n
- Demonstrated ability to engage confidently with fund managers, Investment Committees, Boards and senior executives.
n
- Strong quantitative, analytical and commercial capabilities.
n
- Excellent written communication skills with experience preparing investment papers and recommendations.
n
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, economics, commerce, mathematics or a related discipline.
n
- CFA, CA, CPA, Masters of Applied Finance or other relevant postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded.
n
