Leader of Learning - History and Legal Studies (to commence 2027) n

The Leader of Learning reports to the Principal through the Assistant Principal - Teaching and Learning. The Leader of Learning as a pre-eminent teacher leads a delegated group of teachers in the pursuit of excellence in all areas of teaching and learning including content knowledge, teaching methodology, classroom management, assessment and reporting and professional development.

Key responsibilities

Provide leadership in teaching, learning and assessment

n
n

Demonstrate excellence as a classroom teacher and a high level of professionalism

n
n

Provide leadership in the effective and secure use of technology in teaching and learning

n
n

Demonstrate and communicate a thorough knowledge of NESA and other requirements relative to courses within the department

n
n

Promote an effective framework for curriculum development within the department

n
n

Initiate and supervise the development, implementation and evaluation of effective teaching/learning programs in collaboration with members of the Department

n
n





Adapt the curriculum to ensure that inclusive education of all pupils is achieved and maintained

n
n

Coordinate and manage appropriate assessment, recording and reporting procedures

n
n

Develop learning and teaching skills within the department

n
n

Facilitate opportunities for self and departmental participation in professional development and reflective practice

n
n

About you

n

Must meet the requirements of the Working with Children Check as required by Child Protection legislation for child-related employment

n
n

Committed to understanding and actively promoting the Catholic ethos of the College

n
n

Committed to the education of boys

n
n

Able to account for departmental resources and submit annual budgets for approval

n
n

Familiar with the College's Strategic Improvement Plan and able to implement relevant objectives

n
n

Able to comply with the College's Workplace, Health and Safety policies and procedures
