Are you an experienced Sawmill Superintendent or Production Manager looking for an opportunity to take ownership of a substantial timber manufacturing operation?

We are seeking an experienced Sawmill Superintendent to join one of Papua New Guinea's most established manufacturing organisations, based in Bulolo, Morobe Province.

n

Offering a salary up to $180,000 AUD plus a comprehensive expatriate package, this is a senior, hands-on operational leadership position with responsibility across the company's sawmill, planing mill, timber treatment facilities and kilns.

n

The successful candidate will lead production teams, drive consistent quality and output, develop local capability and ensure operations are delivered safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilitiesn

n
- Lead sawmill, planing mill, treatment plant and kiln operations
n
- Manage production teams to achieve quality, output and delivery targets
n
- Provide strong, disciplined and visible leadership across the operation
n
- Manage production processes, materials and stock movements
n
- Ensure finished timber products meet required quality standards
n
- Manage consumables including saw blades, planer knives, treatment chemicals, packing and strapping materials
n
- Monitor operational equipment across the sawmill and planing mill
n
- Drive workplace safety and compliance
n
- Provide hands-on training, mentoring and development of employees
n
- Identify and implement operational and workplace improvements
n




- Work collaboratively as part of the company's senior management team
n

About Youn

We are looking for someone who has built their career within sawmilling and timber processing and understands the practical realities of running a productive manufacturing operation.

You will ideally bring:n

n
- Significant experience within the sawmill and timber industry
n
- At least 5 years' experience at a senior operational or supervisory level
n
- Solid knowledge of sawmill and planing mill operations
n
- Experience with timber treatment plants and kiln operations
n
- Demonstrated production and people-management capability
n
- Strong workplace health and safety knowledge
n
- Experience improving production processes, quality and operational performance
n
- The ability to train, mentor and develop employees
n
- A practical, hands-on leadership style
n
- The ability to manage multiple production priorities in a demanding environment
n

Previous experience working in a remote, regional or developing-country environment would be advantageous but is not essential.

n

The successful candidate will receive up to $180,000 AUD salary + comprehensive expatriate benefits The expatriate package includes relocation and associated benefits to support living and working in Papua New Guinea.
