Job Description

We are looking for a self-motivated and forward-thinking Service Technician to join our Projects & Service team.
n
This role would suit someone with experience in commercial electrical, HVAC, mechanical services or a related technical trade who is looking to develop their skills in a specialised technical environment. Full training is provided, so this is your chance to potentially enter a new field and make the role your own.
n
You will work across a variety of commercial and industrial sites, carrying out testing, fault finding, servicing and commissioning of controlled-environment, fume and chemical extraction systems.
n
You’ll have plenty of autonomy in the field, while having access to training, technical support and a team behind you.
About the Role n
As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring systems are tested, commissioned and operating correctly while providing a professional and reliable service to customers.
n
n
- Conducting onsite testing and servicing of specialised systems.
n
- Completing testing of controlled-environment, fume and chemical extraction systems.
n
- Diagnosing faults, troubleshooting issues and determining appropriate solutions.
n
- Completing commissioning of new fume cupboards and biological safety cabinets.
n
- Carrying out project commissioning and associated testing activities.
n
- Preparing clear, accurate and timely service reports.
n
- Identifying repair and remedial works and preparing quotations where required.
n
- Providing accurate information to the operations team following field activities.
n
- Understanding customer requirements and providing appropriate technical recommendations.
n
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
n
- Working in accordance with company procedures, relevant standards and safety requirements.
n
- Completing Job Safety Analysis (JSA) requirements and ensuring the correct PPE is worn at all times.
n
- Maintaining company vehicles, tools and technical equipment in a clean, safe and serviceable condition.
n
- Using tablets, mobile applications and other digital tools to complete field documentation.
n
- Working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
n
- Identifying opportunities to assist customers with additional repairs, services or improvements.
n

- Experience in commercial electrical, HVAC, mechanical services or a related technical field.

- Strong technical and fault-finding abilities.
n

n
- The ability to work autonomously and manage field-based work effectively.
n
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
n
- A professional, approachable and customer-focused attitude.
n

n
- The ability to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules.
n
- Confidence using mobile technology, tablets and field-service applications.

Mandatory Requirements n
Applicants must :

- Be an Australian citizen.
n
- Be eligible to obtain a Police Clearance.
n
- Be able to obtain Working With Children clearance where required.
n
- Be able to obtain relevant site clearances where required.
n
- Be able to pass a standard pre-employment medical assessment.
n
- Hold or be willing to obtain a White Card.
n
- Hold or be willing to obtain Working at Heights training.
n
- Hold or be willing to obtain an EWP licence.
n
- Be available to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and interstate travel where required.
n
