Programmed Maintenance Services – Brassall QLD
HSE & Capability Lead n
Ipswich | $110,000 - $120,000 + Super | Permanent
The Opportunity n
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced HSE & Capability Lead to join a global specialist in automated distribution and logistics systems.
n
Based at a large-scale automated distribution facility in Ipswich, this is a hands‑on, site-based role focused on safety leadership, compliance, training and capability development across a highly technical operation.
The Role n
You will take ownership of the site's WHS management system while working closely with Operations, Maintenance, Team Leaders, contractors and other key stakeholders.
n
Key responsibilities include:
n
n
- Managing and improving the site's WHS management system
n
- Reviewing risk assessments, SWMS and safety controls
n
- Providing safety leadership across high-risk work including isolation, permit to work, working at heights and automated machinery
n
- Conducting regular floor walks, inspections, audits and workplace risk assessments
n
- Developing safety procedures, work instructions and toolbox talks
n
- Delivering safety training and supporting competency sign‑offs
n
- Leading incident investigations and root cause analysis
n
- Managing injury, Return to Work and WorkCover processes
n
- Monitoring safety KPIs including TRIFR and near-miss trends
n
- Managing corrective actions and contractor safety documentation
n
- Maintaining audit‑ready documentation and supporting ISO 45001 compliance
n
- Supporting employee capability,
upskilling and development
n
About You n
You will be an experienced HSE/WHS professional with a background in manufacturing, FMCG, automated logistics or a similar operational environment .
n
You will ideally have:
n
n
- Cert IV in WHS/HSE or equivalent
n
- Experience with risk assessments, safety systems and high-risk work
n
- Return to Work and injury management experience
n
- ICAM or similar incident investigation experience
n
- Experience delivering safety training and building capability
n
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
n
- The confidence to challenge unsafe practices and hold teams accountable
n
- A practical, hands‑on approach to workplace safety
n
n
TAE, Return to Work, Confined Spaces and Working at Heights qualifications are desirable, but some can be obtained after commencement.
