Job Description

Public Sector People are partnering with a local government organisation to recruit an experienced Senior Compliance Officer for a contract assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for a compliance professional who enjoys a varied workload, stakeholder engagement, and making a genuine impact within the community.

Working within a collaborative regulatory services team, you will play a key role in ensuring legislative compliance, conducting investigations, managing complex regulatory matters, and providing expert advice to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include: n

- Investigating and resolving regulatory and compliance matters.
n
- Monitoring activities to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and approvals.
n
- Preparing reports, notices and regulatory documentation.
n
- Managing customer enquiries and complaints in a qualified and solutions-focused manner.
n
- Providing compliance advice and education to community stakeholders.
n
- Liaising with internal teams, residents, businesses and industry representatives.
n
- Assisting with enforcement actions where required, including preparing evidence for legal proceedings.
n

Contract Length: 6 months (Immediate Start Available)

About You We are looking for candidates with: n

n




- Experience in compliance, investigations, regulatory services, planning, environmental health, building surveying or a related field.
n
- Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory frameworks.
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
n
- Proven ability to investigate issues, analyse information and achieve practical outcomes.
n
- Strong report writing and documentation skills.
n
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work both independently and within a team environment.
n
- Current Class C Driver's License.
n
