We’re partnering with a global retailer to find a senior eCommerce technology leader to take ownership of digital development and help shape the next phase of its online platform.

n
n

This is not a traditional digital marketing or trading role. The focus is firmly on technology, development leadership and delivery.

n
n

You’ll lead a distributed development team, work closely with senior Technology and Digital stakeholders, and act as the technical bridge between business requirements and engineering delivery.

n
nThe role n
n

n
n
- Lead and develop a distributed team of developers, establishing solid development processes, standards and ways of working
n
n
- Own technical delivery across the eCommerce platform, including releases, integrations, APIs, data and platform improvements
n
n
- Translate business and product requirements into practical technical solutions and confidently challenge engineering decisions where required
n
n
- Work closely with Product, UX, eCommerce, Marketing and Technology teams
n
n
- Oversee relationships between the digital platform and broader systems including ERP, WMS, logistics, fulfilment and third-party applications
n
n
- Support platform architecture decisions and significant transformation initiatives,



with potential major rebuild work ahead
n
n
- Improve delivery discipline across QA, incident management, technical debt and release processes
n
n

nAbout you n
n

We’re looking for someone who has come from a technical or development background and progressed into leadership.

n
n

You’ll ideally bring:

n
n

n
n
- Experience leading software or digital development teams
n
n
- Strong eCommerce platform experience across Shopify Plus, Magento / Adobe Commerce or another enterprise commerce platform
n
n
- Good understanding of APIs, integrations, data flows and distributed digital environments
n
n
- Enough technical depth to confidently challenge developers and assess proposed solutions
n
n
- Experience operating in retail, eCommerce or another fast-paced consumer environment
n
n
- Strong stakeholder management and the ability to partner with senior Technology and Digital leaders
n
n

n
n

You do not need to be a hands-on developer today, and Shopify experience is not essential. Strong eCommerce technology leadership is far more important.

n
n
