Job Title: Logistics Coordinator

Labourforce is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Logistics Coordinator to join a leading business in the building materials industry, based in Smithfield. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in logistics, procurement, and inventory management to work with a agile team supporting national operations.
n
About the Role:
n
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating global and local sourcing activities, ensuring timely logistics and transportation of products to support on-time delivery to customers across Australia — with a focus on distributor accounts.
n
Key Responsibilities:
n
n
- Manage procurement of goods for warehouse stock and project requirements.
n
- Oversee and update overseas distributor orders; communicate delays and ensure delivery in full and on time.
n
- Regularly report to distributors on order status.
n
- Coordinate with suppliers and freight forwarders for container tracking and project deliveries.
n
- Handle documentation for shipping, including BOLs, Packing Lists, and Commercial Invoices.
n
- Update freight portals for visibility of stock movements and delivery times.
n
- Lead weekly distributor meetings alongside Plant and State Sales Managers.
n
- Support the Customer Experience Team in delivering outstanding service.
n
- Participate in monthly operations and logistics reporting activities.
n
- Assist with stocktakes and other supply chain tasks as required.
n

Key Skills and Experience:
n
n
n
- 1–3 years’ experience in logistics, inventory control, or customer service (construction/building industry experience preferred).
n
- Knowledge of international freight forwarding, customs brokerage, and import/export processes.
n
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
n
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
n
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and ERP systems.
n
- High attention to detail with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
n
- Adaptable, proactive, and committed to delivering results.
n
