About the role n

You’ll prepare hydraulic designs and drawings across traditional building-hydraulics services, including roofwater drainage, gutters, sanitary drainage, water supply, fire services, gas and effluent disposal.

Stormwater experience is highly regarded, with opportunities to contribute to site drainage, charged systems, pit and pipe networks, legal points of discharge and on-site detention according to your experience and development needs.

Key responsibilities n

n
- Prepare accurate hydraulic designs, calculations and drawings for residential projects
n
- Design and document roofwater, sanitary drainage, water supply, fire, gas and effluent disposal systems
n
- Interpret architectural, structural and civil plans and translate requirements into coordinated, buildable documentation
n
- Use AutoCAD and/or Revit, along with relevant design and workflow systems
n
- Undertake design checks in accordance with the NCC, AS/NZS 3500 series, local requirements and STA standards
n
- Assist with stormwater design tasks where capability allows
n
- Coordinate with engineers, drafters, planners, clients and other internal teams
n
- Manage allocated work through STA systems, including progress and time recording
n
- Check your own work for accuracy, compliance, consistency and constructability
n
- Participate in technical training, feedback and quality-improvement activities

What we’re looking for nn




- Relevant qualification in engineering, hydraulic services, building services, drafting or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
n
- Previous hydraulic design or drafting experience preferred
n
- Practical understanding of building-hydraulics principles
n
- Ability to interpret plans, sections, specifications and technical information
n
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
n
- Working knowledge of the NCC and relevant Australian Standards, including AS/NZS 3500
n
- Strong numerical reasoning, attention to detail and design-checking discipline
n
- Clear communication and a practical, customer-focused approach
n
- Experience in the Australian building and construction industry desirable
n
- Residential project experience highly regarded
n
- Stormwater design or modelling experience will be very highly regarded
n
