Position Details n

We're looking for a committed and enthusiastic Grounds Team Leader to join our Palm Lake Resort Pelican Waters team and help keep our resort grounds in pristine condition.

n

This Full Time, 38 hour per week, Monday to Friday role combines hands-on grounds maintenance with team leadership. You'll coordinate daily maintenance and landscaping activities, support and guide the grounds team, and ensure equipment and work practices meet safety standards.

Responsibilities n

n
- Assist in completion, allocation and supervision of work by grounds staff;
n
- Train grounds staff in the safe use, cleaning and storage of equipment & chemicals.
n
- Manage hazardous substance storage, labelling and registers.
n
- Ensure appropriate PPE use and provide staff training on correct PPE procedures.
n
- Hedge & tree trimming;
n
- Mowing, edging & whipper snipping;
n
- Control weeds and pests through the application of herbicides;
n
- Raking and blowing leaves, pruning and disposing of dying vegetation;
n
- Planting, mulching, and maintaining flowers and shrubs, including watering and maintenance of irrigation systems;
n
- Oversee the outdoor presentation of all facilities,



including BBQ & pool maintenance;
n
- Ensure all mechanical equipment and tools are kept in good working order;
n

To excel in this role, you will bring:

n

n
- Qualification in Cert III Horticulture or equivalent is essential;
n
- Demonstrated experience in both leadership/supervisory & groundskeeping roles.
n
- A "C" class driver's licence; HR or MR licence will be highly regarded.
n
- ACDC chemical licence is advantageous.
n
- Ability to use equipment such as push mower, ride-on mower, hedge trimmer, whipper snipper and blower;
n
- Experience in machine maintenance;
n
- Possess the physical ability to undertake the requirements of the role, including bending, lifting and carrying;
n
- The ability to lead by example, plan & execute work with limited supervision;
