The Team

The Child Health and Parenting Service (CHaPS) provides important health and wellbeing services to families across Tasmania with children aged 0 to 5. The service promotes the healthy development and wellbeing of children, providing growth and developmental assessments, health-focused early intervention, referrals and connections with other early childhood providers. The CHaPS Residential Parenting Unit (lilinga) supports early intervention and support to families to navigate the adjustments and broad range of challenges that can arise during early parenting, equipping them with the confidence, knowledge and tools needed to support family wellbeing. lilinga means Tasmanian Myrtle Beech (Nothofagus cunninghamii) in palawa kani, the language of Tasmanian Aborigines.

The Role

Registered Nurses within lilinga work alongside Registered Midwives and Enrolled Nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care that supports the careplan, and promotes the wellbeing and confidence of families admitted to the unit. Multiple part-time, full-time, casual positions available. Roles are available for both experienced Child and Family Health Nurses and Nurses with Perinatal and Infant Mental Health expertise with the capacity to take on grade-4 roles and in-charge shifts, as well as Registered Nurses newer to this specialist area seeking career development and growth.

Responsibilities

- You will need Experience and-or knowledge of the principles of primary healthcare and delivery of holistic care that supports family efficacy.
- Experience, qualifications and-or knowledge (or ability to gain same) in the area of early parenting support, child development, and family mental health and wellbeing.
- Proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, and in partnership with families, to meet health outcomes.

Details of appointment

Multiple permanent positions available, full time and part time, shift worker (fully rotational) positions, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed upon date. Fixed term, casual, positions working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 24 months. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies. Salary $80,524 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance withNurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.



Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439- $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4 In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type Salary Packaging You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse Current Working with Children Registration Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable: Holds a recognised qualification in child and family health nursing, or other qualification relevant to the area of early parenting (including subjects related to perinatal and infant mental health), or is working towards same.
