Qualified Motor Mechanic (Min. 5 Year Experience) – North Geelong – $35–$45/hr n

Malik Automotive is looking for a qualified Motor Mechanic with a minimum of 5 years' automotive workshop experience to join our team in North Geelong .

n

We are looking for an experienced mechanic who can work confidently and independently, diagnose faults accurately and take pride in completing quality repairs .

n

You will work on a variety of Japanese, European and Australian vehicles , with a mix of servicing, mechanical repairs, diagnostics, fault finding and roadworthy-related work.

n

If you enjoy diagnosing problems properly rather than simply replacing parts , this role will suit you.

Key Responsibilities n

n
- Carry out scheduled servicing and routine maintenance
n
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and scan tools
n
- Perform mechanical repairs and component replacement
n
- Carry out brake, suspension, steering and drivetrain repairs
n
- Perform engine and transmission repairs and replacements
n
- Carry out electrical fault finding and basic electrical repairs
n
- Inspect vehicles and identify required repairs
n
- Carry out pre‑RWC inspections and repairs where required
n
- Complete repairs efficiently and to a high standard
n
- Follow manufacturer specifications and workshop procedures
n
- Maintain accurate job cards and service records
n
- Communicate professionally with team members and customers when required
n
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment
n

Skills & Experience n

Essential:

n

n
- Minimum 5 years' experience working as a Motor Mechanic in an automotive workshop
n




- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification
n
- Robust mechanical knowledge and diagnostic ability
n
- Proven ability to diagnose and repair vehicles independently
n
- Experience using automotive diagnostic scan tools
n
- Ability to diagnose faults rather than relying on parts replacement
n
- Valuable attention to detail and problem-solving skills
n
- Reliable, punctual and professional
n
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
n
- Current Australian driver's licence
n

Experience with Japanese, European and Australian vehicles is highly regarded.
