Martinus Group is looking for an experienced safety professional to join our Australian business and play a key role in maintaining and strengthening our safety culture across the company.
n
This is a broad, influential role spanning our major projects, plant division and corporate safety systems, with responsibility for ensuring our people, projects and operations continue to meet the highest safety standards.
The role n
As Safety Lead, you will provide strategic and operational safety leadership across the business, working closely with project teams, operational leaders and senior management.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n

- Providing safety leadership across major rail projects and the Plant division.
n
- Supporting project teams to identify, manage and mitigate safety risks.
n
- Maintaining and continually improving safety systems, processes and standards.
n
- Managing and maintaining relevant safety accreditations, certifications and registrations.
n
- Coordinating and managing internal and external audits, ensuring findings are addressed effectively and on time.
n
- Monitoring legislative, regulatory and industry requirements and ensuring the business remains compliant.
n
- Providing guidance,
coaching and support to leaders and frontline teams.
n
- Driving continuous improvement and strengthening Martinus Group safety culture.
n
- Reporting on safety performance, trends, risks and improvement opportunities to senior leadership.
n
About you n
We’re looking for a confident and experienced safety professional who can operate effectively across both strategic and operational environments.
n
You will ideally have:
n
n
- Significant experience in a senior safety role within rail, construction, infrastructure, resources or a similar high-risk industry.
n
- Robust knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, systems and industry requirements across a rail safety environment.
n
- Experience managing safety across major projects and operational/plant environments.
n
- Proven experience managing audits, accreditations and compliance requirements.
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
n
- The ability to influence leaders and teams and turn safety requirements into practical outcomes.
n
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a genuine commitment to keeping people safe.
n
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in WHS, Safety, Risk or a related discipline.
